I am grateful that I have a new job. It is not all it is cracked up to be. I am just as tired as I have been working other jobs. Honestly, this job is very stressful. The hours are not stable. You do not know what shift nor what hours you will be working from week to week. This was advertised as choose your own hours. They failed to mention that the hours would be a first come first served basis. When you are not first in line, you get the left over scraps. Scattered hours. Scattered around and trying to meet the required amount of hours to meet all qualifications for the week.
Due to company privacy I will not say what company this for. I would not want to make them look bad. Basically, it is a good company and pays well. The pay is good and along with that is a good amount of stress. Customers are so rude and disrespectcful. They do not care if you are new or have been there for a while. I am amazed at how many people lie to try to get over and think they will get something for nothing. If there friends got service for a low price, their friend must had a coupon with a good discount. That coupon was most likely for the friend only. But, people just have to brag about how they got a good deal for a quality product for less than half price.
The stress do not come from what I do as job duties. The stress comes from nagging, complaining, and lying customers. Then some of them ask for one item and then change and ask for something different. Some of them get caught up in their own mess and forget what they asked for and then have to try to play it off as if I didn’t write down and repeat to them what they asked for in the beginning. You said you want this and that. I write it down and repeat to you what I heard. You agree with what I repeated back to you. Now, you do not like the prices you hear and try to say you asked for something different.
How many times do I have to say ” Your bought their product or service when it was on sale or your friend had a special coupon”. After explaining this 2 or 3 times, why you still saying you want it for the same price your friend paid? OMG! Like really. I have worked with children with behavior problems (like to challenge adults and teachers) who are more respectful than these adults.
Overall, I like my new job and what I do on my job. A lot of the customers are a major pain. Honestly, I sugarcoated this blog. Those of you who has done any work dealing with people and helping customers know what I mean. In the past I had customer service jobs that I loved and looked forward to working and seeing customers daily. I enjoyed being at work more than being at home. Unfortunately, I can not say that about this job because of rude customers. I felt like quitting the first few days, But, I had a few good customers who made feel like trying it out a little while longer. In the meantime, I will be looking for another job just in case this one continues to dry out.
